At the AUG annual meeting in 2007 the representatives of Futronic GmbH, Messrs. Wolfgang Lachmann and Michael Preuss expressed their concern on future availability of ARCNET components.

 

The representatives of SMSC GmbH, Mr. Clemens Kästner, and of SOHARD Embedded Systems GmbH, Mr. Michael Kaufmann, reported on measures taken by their respective companies to ensure the longterm availability fo ARCNET components.

 

SMSC ensure this by selecting an appropriate manufacturer for their ARCNET controllers.
SOHARD Embedded Systems rely on an FPGA-based ARCNET IP core which is also available as a separate product in form of a netlist for programmable logic devices.
